Company to celebrate construction milestone for $21 million new facility in Olathe

OLATHE, Kan. — Terracon announced it will be “Topping Out” the frame of its new headquarters at 11 a.m., Sept. 5 at its new building site on Ridgeview Avenue north of College Boulevard in Olathe. The milestone comes just a few months after the construction was announced in April 2017.

Terracon President Swaminathan Srinivasan, P.E., will welcome Olathe Mayor Mike Copeland and other special guests, including city officials and individuals on the design-build team. Terracon employees attending the event will be invited to sign the final structural beam before it is placed on the building.

Expected to be completed in early 2018, the $21 million corporate headquarters building is close to the company’s current location and will accommodate nearly 200 existing employees with room for growth. Terracon will be the sole occupant of the two-story, 65,000-square-foot office building, which will emphasize collaborative spaces including a new training conference center and expanded amenities.

“Terracon’s new headquarters reflects our continued growth strategy, as well as our commitment to remain part of the Olathe business community,” said Swaminathan Srinivasan, Terracon president. “Our goal is to inspire our employees while we focus on our future and serve our clients in new, innovative ways.”

Located in Olathe for more than 10 years, Terracon has consistently demonstrated growth through internal expansion and acquisitions. The new building is being made possible by a successful partnership between Terracon and the City of Olathe, as well as the Kansas Department of Commerce.

The property for Terracon’s new headquarters is being developed by a team led by VanTrust Real Estate. McCownGordon is the general contractor and Finkle + Williams is the architectural firm.

Terracon is an employee-owned engineering consulting firm with more than 4,000 employees providing environmental, facilities, geotechnical, and materials services from more than 140 offices serving all 50 states.
