Double Tee Slab Sawing

ATI is busy in the renovation project of the George R. Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. Houston will host the 2017 Super Bowl and the GRB is undergoing a major expansion.

In the parking garage ATI Team members are at work in two areas. They have cut and removed eight spandrel panels above the garage which will allow large buses access. Second, the ATI team is cutting and removing 10’ x 60’ structural double tee slabs on the first and second floor to make access for the escalators and elevators. Each slab must be shored up from the bottom, and all operators are tied off. Because the parking garage is still operational, ATI operators are working to minimize noise and vibration and to maximize safety.
