The Brand New Soilmec CFA Rig: SF-55

Since 1987 when the first CM-48 was produced in Cesena, Soilmec became a landmark for CFA dedicated machines.

Today, with over 600 units sold all over the world, Soilmec is proud to announce the launch of the next generation of this dedicated CFA rigs.

The new SF-55

The best engineering practice and technological innovation come together in this new machine.
Increased performances, safety, simplicity and reliability are the main drivers of a unique product.

SF-55: Design

New kinematics. Improved cylinder lifting capacity due to a larger lever-arm with a higher connection to the mast, increases the rig and mast stability. The mast raising cylinders are fitted with mechanical protection.

Mast extension for 27 m depth. Thanks to the improved lifting capacity of the new hydraulic cylinders it is possible to add a 2 m additional mast extension to reach a 27 m depth.

Foldable platform in transport condition and 5” concrete pipe integrated within the in cabin platform.

Additional 440 kg counterweight for increased max front weight.

Star Auger Cleaner with special kit for cohesive soil.

Improved crawler undercarriage with enhanced slew ring and a reinforced undercarriage body.

SF-55: Performance

Stage V Cummins Diesel engine fitted with Auto low idle control:

• Fuel saving during the inactive stages
• Reduction of operating costs
• Noise reduction

New hydraulic and electrical system. More efficiency and more space for easier maintenance.

New diesel tank for greater drilling autonomy

SF-55: Smart Working

New DMS 4.0, a multi-language adjustable 12” touch-screen to manage the drilling rig, monitor alarms and set and store technology parameters in real time.

CFA Autorotary. This function increases the operator comfort reducing the fatigue and arm vibration during the drilling phase.

Auto Drilling CFA is the automated drilling system developed by Soilmec: DMS defines the correct mix of parameters and checks to ensure greater efficiency in terms of digging performance.
•    Allows the operator to detect the corkscrew effect
•    Allows the operator to detect excessive over-excavation&over-flighting
•    Optimises the level of auger filling
•    Optimises the drilling process
•    Allows the operator to become a controller of the automated functions set
•    Reduces stress and fatigue to the operator

Sleeve extension warning system (Patent Pending) to avoid incorrect operations during coupling procedure, giving the operator the visualization of the correct locking position of the sleeve extension.

Wi-Fi Concrete Sensor used to measure the pressure of the concrete

Auxiliary line restraint – in a safe position easily accessible to the banksman.
